Folklore journey in honour of Dr. Bruno Ravnikar under honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar
At the invitation of the Union of Slovene Folklore Groups, the husband of the President of the Republic, Dr. Aleš Musar, attended a performance with the title »I Know About the Beautiful White Country...«, dedicated to the memory of Dr. Bruno Ravnikar.

A concert hall full of domestic and foreign spectators listened intently to his address on behalf of the President of the Republic.
In his speech, Dr. Musar emphasized the supreme professionalism of Dr. Bruno Ravnikar and his dedicated research of cultural heritage. He highlighted his invaluable contribution to the preservation of Slovenian and global cultural treasures, especially through his recording and documentation of texts, music and dance. As a pioneer of kinetography in folk dance, he was most responsible for its establishment in folk-dance, and not only in Slovenia.
“If only written down, the intangible cultural heritage would remain just a memory,” emphasised Dr. Musar. “It only lives if we constantly revive it. With every rehearsal, every performance, every festival. And this is the greatness that marks Dr. Ravnikar's entire life. A life for our cultural heritage, which over 200 performers will bring to life again tonight."
