In talks with the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, the President again called for an immediate ceasefire. They also talked about the peace plan to end the war in Gaza, an effort in which Jordan is involved. The President expressed concern over the growing humanitarian disaster in Gaza and called for the strict observance of humanitarian law and basic human decency. She stressed the importance of the continued financing of the UNRWA, as cutting funding would endanger more Palestinian lives in Gaza and the Middle East.
The President also highlighted the importance of ensuring humanitarian aid, thanking Jordan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs for the country’s part. Jordan is the only country conducting aid airdrops in Gaza. Slovenia also welcomes the humanitarian corridor between Jordan and Gaza that was established on 20 December 2023. However, the President said it was urgent to establish additional entry points and various paths to deliver aid, as the delivered quantities of basic necessities are still insufficient.
