Participation of Dr. Musar in United Nations events

“There are not enough men here. And by this I do not mean that there should be more men like me speaking in such panels, but that there should be more women like my wife speaking in the General Assembly.”

On 24 September 2025, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, a joint event was held by four global networks of First Ladies and Gentlemen entitled “80 Years of the UN: The Role of First Ladies and Gentlemen United for Peace and Prosperity.” A joint declaration was adopted on this occasion.

At this event, Dr. Aleš Musar, together with Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Ukraine, presented the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen (SFLG), in which he has been actively involved for the past two years. The full recording of the event is available HERE (Dr. Musar’s address begins at 47:50).

The spouse of the Slovenian President presented the activities of the SFLG, emphasizing the collective engagement of First Ladies and Gentlemen. The First Lady of the United States also called upon her colleagues to collaborate on issues concerning the impact of artificial intelligence on children and education systems.

In addition to these events, the President’s spouse attended the session of the United Nations General Assembly during the address by the President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar, as well as her statement before the United Nations Security Council. He also accompanied the President to the evening reception hosted by the President of the United States and to a meeting with members of the Slovenian community in New York.
