The President's Husband, Dr. Aleš Musar, Invites Armenian Children, Victims of War, to the Lipica Stud Farm
The consequences of war in Armenia have been particularly cruel to children, who have been direct witnesses to shootings, bombings, and the destruction of their homes and villages. Many Armenian children, some of whom are orphans, suffer from various traumas, making professional support and psychosocial assistance programs crucial to their recovery.
Lipica, 5 Oct 2024
A group of children from Armenia participated in a psychosocial assistance program held throughout the week at the Debeli Rtič Youth Health Resort. This program was organized for the second time by the Slovenian nonprofit ITF Enhancing Human Security. On October 5, 2024, the husband of the President of Slovenia, Dr. Aleš Musar, advocated for these children and invited them to visit the Lipica Stud Farm.
The Armenian children – boys and girls nearing the end of elementary school or entering high school – particularly enjoyed taking on the role of caretakers for the Lipizzaner horses. With the help of Dr. Musar and experts from the Lipica Stud Farm, they learned about daily care routines and how to build bonds of friendship and trust with these noble animals.
The assistance program for Armenian children, victims of war, is carried out by ITF Enhancing Human Security, thanks to donations from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria.
