Meetings of Dr. Musar with First Ladies and Spouses in New York
During the session of the United Nations General Assembly, the spouse of the President of the Republic met with numerous First Ladies and spouses from countries in which the ITF Enhancing Human Security is active — an organization whose activities Dr. Musar supports and in which he participates.

He discussed humanitarian projects jointly funded by the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Slovenia with First Lady of the Republic of Korea Kim Hea Kyung. With Her Majesty Queen Rania of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, he spoke about Slovenia’s humanitarian activities in Palestine, with which the Queen is well acquainted. With Nehmat Aoun from the Lebanese Republic, they agreed on a joint appearance at the launch of the next ITF project expected in the coming months. With First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, he discussed the many ongoing projects being implemented in Ukraine.
He also spoke about shared priorities in humanitarian efforts with Prindon Sadri (Republic of Kosovo) and Sara Latif Rashid (Republic of Iraq). At a special meeting with Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and daughter of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, they discussed close cooperation on a demining project and additional possibilities for collaboration in the field of water management within the framework of the Bled Water Forum. At the central event of the Global Network of First Ladies and Gentlemen, speeches were delivered by Dr. Musar, Olena Zelenska, Ann Marie Davis, First Lady of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas; Rossana Briceño, First Lady of Belize; Lucrecia Peinado, First Lady of the Republic of Guatemala; and Maricel Cohen de Mulino, First Lady of the Republic of Panama.
At a reception hosted by First Lady of the Republic of Türkiye Emine Erdoğan, Dr. Musar and the First Lady discussed cultural diplomacy. Dr. Musar congratulated First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone Fatima Maada Bio on receiving the Just Rights for Children award for her efforts in combating child marriage.
The President’s spouse also joined Her Majesty Queen Silvia of the Kingdom of Sweden and First Lady of the Republic of Finland Suzanne Innes-Stubb at UNICEF Headquarters for an event dedicated to children’s rights.
At a reception on 23 September 2025, First Lady of the United States Melania Trump announced a global initiative addressing the impact of artificial intelligence on children and educational systems, inviting the spouses of world leaders to participate. During the evening reception for heads of state — which he attended alongside the President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar — Dr. Musar expressed to First Lady Trump his interest in contributing to the initiative.
Dr. Musar also met with First Gentleman of the Republic of Namibia Epaphras Denga Ndaitwah, with whom he discussed the unique role of male First Spouses, of whom there are currently only eleven worldwide.
While in New York, the President’s spouse also met with the First Ladies of the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Cyprus, Montenegro, the Republic of Haiti, the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Costa Rica, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Malta, the Republic of Serbia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
