President’s Spouse Participates in an ITF Meeting in Munich with Bavarian Humanitarian Organizations Assisting Ukraine
The Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia in Munich hosted a working meeting between the Slovenian humanitarian non-profit organization ITF Enhancing Human Security and selected Bavarian humanitarian organizations engaged in humanitarian activities in Ukraine. The meeting was attended by Dr. Aleš Musar, the spouse of the President of the Republic, as a special guest. Dr. Musar has visited Ukraine several times over the past three years, most recently two weeks ago, when he visited the Superhumans Center in Lviv.

ITF Director Amb. Tomaž Lovrenčič presented to the Bavarian partners opportunities for cooperation in the implementation of humanitarian activities during wartime in Ukraine. ITF is currently carrying out projects providing medical assistance to victims of explosive remnants of war who have undergone amputations of a leg or an arm; in cooperation with Ukrainian partners, it trains mine victims so they can gain qualifications and themselves become deminers; as a form of psychosocial support after severe wartime injuries, ITF trains mine victims in beekeeping; and it co-organizes mental health support projects for women and children most affected by attacks.
Dr. Aleš Musar shared with the representatives of Bavarian humanitarian organizations his impressions from his recent visit to the Superhumans Clinic, where he met victims of mines and explosive remnants of war – a facility financially supported by Slovenia and Republic of Korea through ITF. The injuries sustained by the wounded are becoming increasingly severe: in addition to the loss of legs, the changing nature of attacks – particularly the use of drones – has led to a growing number of head and arm injuries, as well as cases involving the loss of multiple limbs simultaneously.
He called on those present to strengthen partnerships, both operationally and in terms of donor engagement, as Ukraine’s humanitarian needs remain immense. Together with the First Lady of Ukraine, he is striving to provide assistance in both the medical and psychological fields, where the Slovenian ITF, in partnership with Ukrainian institutions, has already achieved several important results.
