Humanitarian cooperation at the meeting of the spouse of the President of Slovenia and the spouse of the President of the Czech Republic

At the invitation of the spouse of the President of the Czech Republic, Ms. Eva Pavlová, the spouse of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Aleš Musar, paid a visit to Prague. During their meeting at the Presidential Palace in Hradčany, the two leaders stressed the importance of humanitarian action and cooperation between Slovenia and the Czech Republic.

Prague, Czech Republic, 11 Jun 2025

The Czech Republic's support to humanitarian demining projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, implemented by the Slovenian non-profit organisation ITF, has been ongoing since 1998, during which time ITF, with Czech donations, has cleared minefields in more than twenty municipalities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina that posed an immediate danger to the population, especially children.

Through this noble act, the two countries have contributed to preventing numerous accidents and human casualties from these dangerous explosive remnants of war.

Ms Eva Pavlová and Dr Aleš Musar stressed the need to continue all appropriate humanitarian projects to help people in danger and in need, for example in the field of mental health promotion for victims of war.

Both Slovenia and the Czech Republic and their humanitarian institutions can make an important contribution as partners to ensure that humanitarian action is carried out effectively and that aid reaches all those in urgent need. The ITF is planning to form a Board of Trustees, of which Dr Musar informed Ms Pavlova, who confirmed that she would be happy to become a member of this Board.
