Dr. Musar visited the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University

At the invitation of Professor Abraham Newman, author of numerous works examining the functioning of modern society in light of technological progress and the development of international relations in a rapidly changing world, Dr. Musar held a fireside chat with students about the roles and achievements of spouses of world leaders.

Publish date Washington D.C., USA,

In the talk titled “Soft Power Meets Hard Realities,” he first spoke about the significance and potential outcomes of the meeting at the White House, which he had attended the day before at the invitation of the First Lady of the United States, Ms. Melania Trump, together with more than 40 first ladies and spouses from all continents. This was the largest such gathering to date, dedicated to making education accessible to all children worldwide through artificial intelligence—and the first truly global event of its kind. He then shared his experiences in international humanitarian work, as well as the methods of cooperation among first ladies and spouses, which in recent years have become far more substantive than was customary in the past.

Following the discussion, which developed into a lively debate, he also met with prof. George Shambaugh, Dean of the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program at Georgetown University. They discussed the content and future prospects of meetings of first ladies and spouses at the White House. Dr. Musar was accompanied during the visit by ITF Director Amb. Tomaž Lovrenčič, who earned his Master’s degree at the School of Foreign Service in 1995.
