Dr. Aleš Musar took part in the conference “Fostering the Future Together” in Washington D.C., to which the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, invited the spouses of world leaders from across the globe.

Washington, USA, 25 Mar 2026

This was a global gathering that brought together the largest number of first ladies and spouses ever, with as many as 45 participants from all continents. The aim of the meeting was to support the sharing of best practices and AI-based educational tools, promote their accessibility to all children, and establish a forum for discussing, examining, and addressing ethical dilemmas and risks related to the impact of artificial intelligence on children.

On the first day, a working session was held at the U.S. State Department, opened by Ms. Melania Trump, where spouses of world leaders presented the achievements and perspectives of their respective countries regarding the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence brings to education. In his address, Dr. Musar emphasized these very issues and particularly welcomed the initiative to establish a think tank, which he sees as a permanent forum for discussing such dilemmas. “Humanity has already addressed these dilemmas many times in the past—more or less successfully—in science fiction books and films. Now we must do it for real. We have only one chance. It would be best to use it wisely.”

On the second day, a summit of the spouses of world leaders was held at the White House, where the First Lady of the United States entered the room accompanied by a humanoid robot, which greeted participants in multiple languages, including Slovenian. In this formal part of the meeting, first ladies from countries that had already decided to join the global movement for ensuring broad access to AI tools in education for all children spoke.

The meeting, which the First Lady of the United States had announced back in September 2025 and continues to prioritize, was not only focused on important topics but also provided an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange views and expectations.
