Dr. Aleš Musar first greeted the participants on behalf of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar. In his address, he emphasized that this year’s Midsummer Night event brings together three important dimensions: charity, friendship between Slovenia and Kazakhstan, and support for children in need of specialized healthcare.

He recalled the recent visit of the President of the Republic of Slovenia and a business delegation to Kazakhstan, which represented an important step in strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of business, education, and tourism. He also highlighted the role of humanitarian and development initiatives in building mutual trust, noting the special contribution of the Slovenian humanitarian organization ITF Enhancing Human Security.

Dr. Musar placed particular emphasis on the Children's Hospital Šentvid pri Stični, describing it as an indispensable institution providing secondary-level healthcare services for children in Slovenia. He expressed his support for the hospital’s work and welcomed the organizers’ decision to dedicate this year’s charitable proceeds to the institution.

“New connections among long-standing friends are what can lead us to positive change. As a member of the Lions organization, I am proud that we are creating the space for these connections. Together, we are building a better future in ways that may even surprise ourselves,” Dr. Musar emphasized.

The cultural programme featured performances by members of the Kazakh ethno-music group QAGAN and the ethno-dance group YASSY, who introduced visitors to the rich cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. The evening continued in a spirit of fellowship and cultural exchange, with guests enjoying an introduction to traditional Kazakh cuisine.
