In the 10th episode of the podcast The Power of Words, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, hosts Francesca Albanese – the first woman to serve as the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Francesca Albanese has held this position since May 2022 and was reappointed by the UN Human Rights Council last year for a second three-year term. Like many of her predecessors, she has faced fierce criticism, but despite the pressure, she continues to tirelessly draw attention to human rights violations against Palestinians and the immense suffering of civilians in Gaza.
In their conversation, the President and Ms. Albanese discussed how she deals with the pressure, and she also offered a detailed explanation of what the next steps by the international community should be to stop the crimes.
