THE POWER OF THE WORD (The President’s podcast) - #20: Anze Bitenc
“When the phone rings and you receive an emergency call, you don’t stop to think about whether it’s dangerous. You just go.” This is the spirit of firefighting embodied by Anze Bitenc, President of the Ljubljana Firefighters Association and a professional firefighter with the Ljubljana Fire Brigade, who joins the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, as her guest in the latest episode of the The Power of the Word podcast.
Publish date Ljubljana,
The Ljubljana Firefighters Association brings together 4,782 members, including 1,304 operational firefighters. Behind these numbers are people who stand ready to help when it matters most – often helping complete strangers, often in dangerous circumstances, and always aware that their assistance could make all the difference.
President Pirc Musar spoke with Anze Bitenc about courage, solidarity and responsibility, volunteer firefighting, and what it means to be part of a community that knows how to come together when it is needed most.
