Moldova’s European Future at the Forefront of Talks with Igor Grosu
President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar received President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Igor Grosu, who was visiting Slovenia. Their talks focused primarily on Moldova’s European future, the security situation in the wider region, and the consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The President expressed Slovenia’s support for Moldova’s European perspective and its efforts on the path towards the European Union. The two interlocutors strongly condemned Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and stressed the need to pursue a lasting and just peace based on international law and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. President Pirc Musar emphasised that Ukraine must be fully and equally involved in all discussions concerning its future and peace.
They also discussed Russian disinformation campaigns and other forms of hybrid activities, the effects of which are particularly strongly felt in Moldova. The President stressed the importance of cooperation among European countries in strengthening resilience against disinformation, protecting democratic institutions, and preventing foreign interference in democratic processes.
