President Pirc Musar received the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan
The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, received the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, who is on an official visit to Slovenia.

Next month, on July 12, the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Armenia will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next month. In that spirit, President Pirc Musar and Mr Simonyan assessed that relations between Slovenia and Armenia are friendly, however they both see opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
President Pirc Musar and Mr Simonyan also addressed the current crises in Ukraine and the Middle East. SSlovenian President inquired about the situation in the South Caucasus and the situation of the Armenians who left Nagorno-Karabakh after it came under the Azerbaijani control. She emphasized Slovenia's firm commitment to the peaceful resolution of conflicts and respect for international law and human rights. Slovenia's foreign policy is guided by concern for human rights and respect for international law, and we support all diplomatic efforts to resolve disputes peacefully. In this light, we support the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan.
President Pirc Musar and Speaker Simonyan pointed out the lasting consequences of wars for people and society, especially children. The latter, who are victims of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, are taking part in the project Psychosocial rehabilitation of children, victims of the armed conflict in Nagorno-Kabarakh, led by the ITF - Foundation for Strengthening Human Security together with the Slovenian Red Cross and Health Resort Debeli rtič.
President Pirc Musar also expressed solidarity with the people of Armenia after the recent floods.
