President Receives Palestinian Ambassador
After the Republic of Slovenia officially recognized Palestine as an independent and sovereign state yesterday, President Nataša Pirc Musar today received Palestinian Ambassador Salah Abdel Shafi, who represents Palestine in Slovenia from Vienna, for talks at the Presidential Palace.

During the meeting, the President expressed her satisfaction once again that the Republic of Slovenia has recognized Palestine as an independent state, emphasizing that this will allow Slovenia to offer even more credible support to the Palestinian people on their difficult path toward true independence and equality within the international community.
She also added that this recognition is the first step toward a long-term solution based on the two-state concept. A solution that should lead to a just and lasting peace.
