President Pirc Musar receives Nadia Calviño, President of the European Investment Bank

On this occasion, the President expressed her appreciation of the visit and stressed the importance of Slovenia's cooperation with the EIB.

The President highlighted the EIB's successful cooperation in Slovenia and expressed her conviction that there are also excellent opportunities ahead to further deepen partnership ties. She also expressed her support for the EIB's strategic orientation and welcomed in particular the Bank's enhanced activities in the areas of climate change financing, green and digital transformation, cohesion policy and capital markets development.

An important part of the discussion focused on the need to fight climate change more effectively and to promote a circular economy. The two sides agreed that these are very important issues from a geopolitical point of view, and President Calviño presented to the President of the Republic the projects that the EIB is already implementing in these areas.
