Both countries will continue to support Ukraine with political, humanitarian and security assistance.
With regard to the situation in the Middle East, they expressed their support for the implementation of the peace agreement for Gaza and voiced their hope that this would be the first step towards lasting peace and political stability, paving the way to an independent Palestinian state and to security and prosperity for all peoples of the region. They called for the deployment of peacekeeping forces and the provision of humanitarian aid and security for the people of Gaza, while also underlining the importance of effective governance of the territory. President Pirc Musar drew attention to the issue of illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
The two leaders agreed on the importance of close transatlantic relations and of strengthening Europe's resilience and strategic autonomy. President Pirc Musar also stressed the importance of EU enlargement to the Western Balkans as a key factor for the stability and development of the region.
