Ljubljana, 18 Nov 2024
The delegation includes, among others, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy, Yuliia Svyrydenko. On arrival, Olena Zelenska was received by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, at a courtesy meeting. This was followed by talks between the Ukrainian First Lady and the Slovenian First Gentleman with the delegations. They discussed the possibilities for First Ladies and Gentlemen to participate in projects promoting humanitarian and cultural cooperation between countries.
They also visited the Division of Paediatrics of the Ljubljana University Medical Centre, specifically the Intensive Care Unit and the Haematology Unit, staffed by those affectionately referred to as the heroes of the 3rd floor, and later joined the discussion between the representatives of the Slovenian and Ukrainian divisions via video conference.
The main purpose of Olena Zelenka's visit is to attend tomorrow's annual meeting of the Board of Advisors of ITF Enhancing Human Security, which this year will focus on Ukraine’s humanitarian needs. The President of the Republic of Slovenia will also address the meeting of representatives of 22 donor countries and distinguished guests. Soon we will mark 1000 days since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. Both Mrs Zelenska and Ms Svyrydenko will present Ukraine's needs regarding humanitarian aid to war victims.
The delegation from Ukraine will be received tomorrow by Prime Minister Robert Golob.
