THE POWER OF WORD (The President’s Podcast) – #9: The Mothers of Srebrenica
In the 9th episode of the podcast The Power of Words, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, hosts representatives of the Movement of the Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves – President Munira Subašić and Vice President Kada Hotić – as well as Murat Tahirović, President of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of the Srebrenica Crime. They visited her at the Presidential Palace on the 30th anniversary of the mass killing of more than 8,000 Muslim boys and men from Srebrenica and the surrounding areas.

They talked about their lives after this inhumane and heinous genocide of which they are witnesses, and about how important it is to preserve the memory of these atrocities, which should never have happened, let alone be repeated. Yet sadly, they are.
The messages of the Mothers of Srebrenica go beyond personal mourning and become a universal call for humanity, compassion, and responsibility. Their work builds bridges that show it is possible to create hope for a better world without violence and hatred, even from the deepest tragedies. The message they carry is all the more important in this time of yet another massacre unfolding before our eyes in Gaza.
