The conversation reveals a different side of Tadej beyond his cycling victories – as a simple and fun-loving person who knows how to enjoy life’s small pleasures, from a good cup of coffee to relaxed moments with friends and family.
In the episode, they discuss his beginnings, when cycling was more than just a sport, as well as his dedication to younger generations, which he demonstrates through the Pogi Team project and the charity foundation he runs with his partner, cyclist Urška Žigart.
Of course, there is also talk of his cycling triumphs – what it was like to win the Giro, to claim victory again at the Tour de France, to become a world champion, and how it feels to ride in the rainbow jersey. The President and Pogačar also touch on the importance of team spirit, the psychological challenges of wins and losses, and the special bond between Slovenian fans and their sporting heroes.
In the final part, they embark on a creative challenge – what would Tadej’s ideal stage of the Tour of Slovenia look like? Where would he take his fellow riders if he weren’t just considering difficulty but also the breathtaking beauty of green Slovenia?
