Joint Statement by the President and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia on the Israeli strikes on Iran

Following is a joint statement by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Robert Golob, on the Israeli attacks on Iran.

Ljubljana, 13 Jun 2025

"We join the voices of all leaders who have expressed serious concern over the Israeli strikes on Iran. These attacks represent an escalation of an already extremely tense and difficult situation in the Middle East and lead nowhere.

Negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program had recently resumed and offered hope for an agreement that would be important not only for the region but for the entire international community. The Israeli strikes may have inflicted irreparable damage on these talks.

We call on both sides to refrain from any further actions that could lead to the escalation of the conflict or a potential war. Only negotiations and diplomacy can bring peace and stability to the Middle East, which is of fundamental importance for the stability of international relations as a whole.”
