President Pirc Musar attends the official funeral ceremony for King Harald V. in Oslo
President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar, accompanied by her husband Dr Aleš Musar, attended the official funeral ceremony for His Majesty King Harald V of Norway in Oslo. Prior to the funeral service at Oslo Cathedral, the President joined other heads of state and government in the funeral procession from the Royal Palace to the Cathedral.

Members of the Norwegian Royal Family, representatives of European and other royal families, heads of state and government, and other high-ranking guests paid their final respects to King Harald V. At the beginning of the funeral service, Norway observed a nationwide minute of silence in his memory.
On behalf of the Republic of Slovenia, President Pirc Musar expressed her profound condolences to the Royal Family and the people of Norway. King Harald V, who reigned for 35 years, passed away on 28 August 2026 at the age of 89. Following the news of his passing, President Pirc Musar said she was deeply saddened and wished his successor, King Haakon VIII, strength, wisdom and a profound sense of service to the Norwegian people.
