Next month, as part of an official visit to Kazakhstan, the President will meet with students at Lyceum No. 89 in Astana. On this occasion, the children from Domžale Primary School, together with their mentor Jana Tomažič-Ličen, created illustrations and products related to bees, while the older children wrote essays and messages about peace and cooperation. A display of artworks by Slovenian and Kazakh children will also take place at the school in Astana during the visit.
The President received the students in the Grand Hall at the Presidential Palace and sincerely thanked them for their colorful creations. She explained that she would be happy to take their work with her on her visit to Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that the bees would carry with them the message of friendship and cooperation from Slovenia. The President of the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association and the European Beekeeping Federation, Boštjan Noč, also attended the reception at the Presidential Palace. The cooperation between the two schools will be further supported by the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association with a donation of honey for the children in Kazakhstan.
