President Pirc Musar particularly emphasised the need to preserve effective multilateralism, uphold international law and strengthen trust in international institutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Pirc Musar once again personally thanked her German counterpart for his contribution to maintaining the excellent relations between the Germany and Slovenia. President Steinmeier’s participation in the Arraiolos Group meeting marks one of his final international engagements before the end of his term of office in March next year. The meeting also carried special symbolic significance, as President Steinmeier had attended the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Ljubljana in December 2005 as Germany’s newly appointed Foreign Minister, marking one of his first international appearances in that capacity. Slovenia thus holds a special place in both the opening and closing chapters of this important period in his distinguished career as a statesman.
