The Republic of Slovenia has been a full member of NATO since March 29, 2004. The President of the Republic of Slovenia and Commander-in-Chief of its Armed Forces, Nataša Pirc Musar, will be the keynote speaker at tonight's state ceremony on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Slovenia's entry into NATO, jointly organised by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier today, President Pirc Musar received General Christopher Cavoli, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, who is visiting Slovenia on the occasion of the anniversary.

NATO’s strength lies in deterrence, solidarity, mutual assistance and dialogue. Slovenia must therefore strive to be an exemplary member and a strong link in the Alliance chain.
